Overclad of a 4000m2 Commercial Building in Nottingham
A 4000m2 commercial building and warehouse in Nottingham required an urgent roof refurbishment. The existing asbestos roof was now allowing water into the building, and our client needed to ensure their products and showroom were water tight.
After an intial free site survey we were able to offer our client some recommendations. In order for their business to continue operating throughout the works an overclad of the existing roof with 0.7 plastisol coated sheets was opted for. The plastisol coating on the roof sheets comes in a wide range of colours, and on this occasion to keep in line with the existing roof a goosewing grey was opted for. Coming with up to a 25 year manufacturers guarantee, the embossed leathergrain texture comes with fantastic corrosion resistance.
The first stage of the project, as with all, is to ensure all health and safety measures have been taken. Scaffolding was erected to the perimeter of the building and safety netting installed throughout the building internally.
We were able to replace the existing rooflights, which had now degraded and become brittle, with new Class 1 GRP rooflights, before introducing FactoryClad 40 insulation to enhance the buildings thermal performance. FactoryClad insulation is non combustible and classified as Euroclass A1 to BS EN 13501-1, providing our clients with reassurance with the high quality products used in all our refurbishment works.
All gutters were refurbished using a Plygene gutterline ystem, providing a lifetime expectancy of 25 years with guarantee.
The project was completed to schedule, much to our clients delight, without interruption to their business hours.
